finally gonna find out what a Strand Game is
This is a record of a twitter thread, originally posted in 2019
I have two dying PS2s and two possibly-faulty discs of this game and this is the only one for the four possible disc/PS2 combinations that didn't result in disc-read errors
yet
Instead of a recap of MGS 1's plot this game has an entire book?
sorry everyone I guess I'm reading 129 pages of text at 640x480
I should really have predicted that reading that would unlock a longer book
im gonna actually play the game
I have another dualshock but its R1 button is broken
it is conceivable that with enough PS2s I could eventually play a videogame
Can Thew bike to the local game store before they close

For those keeping score: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty has thus far enlisted two discs, two PS2s, and three controllers
You would think this is the most trouble I've had with a PS2 game but actually Final Fantasy XII took ten years, five resets, a PS2, a PS3, a PC, a Windows XP virtual machine, and a GameShark save-transfer device from 2001:
I miss graphics being primitive enough that every time you did something cool you could design a whole room just to be like cHECK THIS OUT: S H A D O W S
this still SORTA happens (the smoke effect in Control comes to mind) but I feel like it's less about blowing teenagers' minds and more industry tech artists/rendering engineers mainly showing off at each other lol
snake just sneezed and alerted the guard I was about to shoot what the hell
disc error lmao
the real question now is whether this means I need a third disc or a third PS2
