Okay woww this isn't the intended environment and I don't even have the perspective stuff working right yet and this already looks amazing
So happy my environment system is robust enough that I can drop stuff into it and have it come out looking this nice
There's a world-space fog texture that gets overlay-blended with sprites based on their depth
Normally it's p subtle but since it's overlay the effect is stronger on darker colors so it's SUPER EFFECTIVE on these particular sprites
Altitude/foreshortening works!
This is still all completely 2D
