Interference patterns from a small collection of scatterers
You can generate these types of patterns p trivially. "Scatterer" here basically just means "waves emanating from a point." Just make a bunch of sines and sum them all up
Play with arrangements of scatterer positions, strengths, frequency distributions etc for wide variation
Also notably: you can produce a lot of very similar patterns by just drawing straight into Fourier space. The scatterers are all oscillating at similar frequencies so visually the result resembles narrow-band noise
Anyway this is all stuff I've been doing at work bc I'm writing an ultrasound sim
The weird noisy appearance of ultrasound images is actually interference patterns from scattering. Been trying to wrap my head around the physics for months lol
Making cool images at least
what if the oscillators oscillated
